Description: Gregans Castle Hotel in the Burren has broken the mould of the traditional Irish Country House Hotel with the arrival this year of new head chef Mickael Viljanen (ex of the Tannery) who eschews the usual superior comfort food on offer in many a country house kitchen and favours a very contemporary and fresh approach to his cooking and presentation (normally only associated with Michelin starred and high end city restaurants). Mickael was Commended for Innovation in this year’s Food and Wine Magazine Awards and is received enthusiastically by the guests at this luxury four star hotel. Gregans Castle has created a luxury break that juxtaposes 2 of the most important considerations in choosing a few days away: wonderful food and total relaxation.

Day 1- Arrive at the hotel by 5.00pm and indulge in a decadent full cream afternoon tea. Partake of the fabulous 5 course dinner menu in the newly decorated dining room. Enjoy a restful night’s sleep in one of our luxuriously appointed rooms.

Day 2- A full breakfast is served either in the comfort of your room or in the dining room. This is followed by a ½ days walk with the resident walking guide where you can assuage any possible guilt of overindulgence and work up an appetite for the evening ahead. Delight in the epitome of gourmet cooking with our 9 course tasting menu with accompanying selected wines. Enjoy another night of uninterrupted sleep in one of our stylish and individually decorated rooms.

Day 3- Again a full breakfast is served in the comfort of your room or in the dining room. On departure you will be presented with a special selection of Gregans Castle products in a gourmet goodie box. Return home de-stressed and satiated.
