Avvio is proud to announce we’ve just won another award from Google. Having become full-service Google Premier Partners in September 2016, Avvio’s in-house digital agency has been recognised as a Winner of the 2017 EMEA Mobile Ads Certification Challenge.
What does this mean?
The award recognises that Avvio’s digital team reached one of the top 10 highest average scores in the mobile ads certification challenge in Ireland. Each member of our digital team took the Google Partners Mobile Ads Certification Challenge during the summer and excelled in their results, demonstrating our expertise in optimising digital strategies across multiple devices.
Why is this great?
If you want potential guests to be able to find your website and book direct, you need to play by Google’s rules. In the past three years, Google’s main rule is that if sites want to succeed, they must be optimised for mobile and that’s why Avvio’s digital experts ensure they are always up to date with the latest advances and strategies in digital marketing for mobile.
In August 2016, Google announced that mobile devices accounted for more than 50% of all search terms. This makes mobile now the most popular device to use when accessing the internet. Hoteliers can no longer afford to focus solely on attracting potential guests browsing on desktops and laptops, unless they want to lose out to their competition.
This is especially important because Google has made it clear that they prefer mobile. Mobile friendly sites rank higher on search results, while non-optimised sites fall to the bottom. The search engine giant first introduced this rule in 2015 and updated it again in 2016 to place even more importance on mobile (Search Engine Land).
