How the Manorview Hotels Group manages nine award-winning hotels with one super-efficient booking engine

Manorview Hotels and Leisure Group has a portfolio of nine boutique hotels scattered throughout Scotland and manages them all with one optimised booking platform: Convert by Avvio. Each of these hotels offers a unique and exquisite guest experience.
Pam Davies, Group Revenue Manager for the Manorview Hotels Group, explains, “We have everything from a Scottish castle and a Tudor Gothic mansion to award-winning hotels that include family pubs and lively nightclubs. We cater for all and we always work towards serving our guests in the best way we can.”
Managing the digital channels for nine different hotels is no easy task. So Manorview partnered with Avvio in autumn 2016, to introduce efficiencies and maximise direct bookings across all their properties.
94% of travellers now switch between devices while browsing and booking their hotel (Think With Google). Avvio’s booking platform ensures all website visitors follow a seamless journey, from browsing to booking, to purchasing additional services or upgrades, regardless of which – or how many – devices they use. Since adopting the Convert booking platform, the Manorview Group has seen an uplift in sales, 42% of which are coming through mobile devices.
Pam explains, “Sales have increased dramatically, aided by the mobile booking engine. We have really focused on promoting our offers on our social media pages and using the links to direct the guest straight to the offer on the booking engine.”
Time management can be a huge challenge when catering to a wide range of guest profiles, especially when it comes to introducing vouchers, discounts and offers. To reduce their workload, the Manorview Hotels Group uses Avvio’s enhance discount and promo code functionality, which allows them to set up a special offer across all of their hotels in one go. This has made them nine times more efficient.
Pam says, “The simplicity of creating offers for all nine hotels and easy management of the booking engine has helped greatly with time management.”
Looking into the future
Manorview’s hotels have won several awards. Most recently, their stunning Boclair House Hotel was named Wedding Hotel of the year 2017. The Group strives to enhance their service, to deliver an exceptional guest experience, from booking to check-in to post-stay.
Pam summarises, “The Manorview Group is constantly evolving. We take great care and pride in all of our properties and are always looking for ways to improve upon our service and in what our venues offer. We’re currently refurbishing Cornhill Castle to add a new Grand Ballroom, three new bedrooms and a state-of-the-art honeymoon suite with its own spa. We’re also redeveloping the Bowfield Hotel to include new spa rooms, restaurant, bar and reception area.”
The Group is sympathetic to reflect these advances across their digital channels to incentivise their large, international market to book direct.
Pam continues, “We are constantly looking at the latest technology to not only grow our brand but to also provide the highest and most easily accessible way for our guests to stay in touch. We make good use of all our social media channels and communicate with our guests, as well as using the technology behind the scenes to make the booking process easier.”
