Assistant Accountant

Location: Limerick, Ireland


An exciting opportunity as an Assistant Accountant has become available for a talented individual to work in our Limerick office on a 1 year maternity cover contract. Working as part of our Finance team, the Assistant Accountant role will focus on the corporate reporting, budget analysis and payroll. 


Accounts Receivable

              • Sales contracts - maintaining the Finance Profile of customers in the booking engine; input details of new contracts and changes to existing customer agreements; managing and enforcing notice periods for all revenue streams.
              • Customer billing - ensure all invoices are accurate and sent on time to all customers for all revenue streams. Record transactions in accounting software and spreadsheets (eg Convert Report)
              • Direct debit originator - prepare files/bank transactions to collect direct debits from customers, ensuring completeness and accuracy and confirming process is carried out to completion (ie transactions are authorised).
              • Collections & Credit Control - lodging money received to the companys’ bank accounts; posting receipts to accounting software; collecting money owed by customers, meeting monthly targets and preparing receipts reports; prepare monthly debtors report, showing status of collections; and complete customer reconciliations.
              • Customer Liaison - ensure all information for new customers is obtained from Sales team and reflected correctly in the Finance Profile in the Booking Engine. Deal with customer communication in a timely and accurate fashion.
              • Ensuring all revenue and related journal entries are posted accurately and on time.
              • Managing the companys’ petty cash.
              • Balance Sheet account reconcilliations.
              • Exchange Journals – balancing AR and AP accounts and writing off any exchange differences.
              • Bank Reconcilliations – Reconcile bank statements to accounts packages.
              • Assist in preparation of year end account files for the auditor.
              • Irish VAT returns/ UK VAT reclaim.
              • Assist as required in month end and year end accounting.
              • Assist as required in audit.


Payroll [Revmac Ltd & Avvio Limited]

                      • Administer payroll for group companies. Ensure changes for starters, leavers and existing staff are accounted for; reconcile to prior month; post journal entries to accounting software; submit returns and prepare payments for payroll taxes for all relevant jurisdictions; and ensure payments are authorised.
                      • Prepare approved staff expenses for payment.



                            • Assist with procurement, implementation and training of finance computer systems.
                            • Provide holiday cover for team roles.
                            • Train other staff to carry out duties in order to provide cover and assist with workload.
                            • Advise their line manager of training requirements.
                            • Attend meetings (eg weekly Finance team meeting, WIP meeting ).
                            • Complete ad-hoc projects (VAT Compliance and UK DD).
                            • Liaise with other Avvio departments to ensure duties can be carried out efficiently.


Essential Competencies

                                    • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role with relevant third level qualifications.
                                    • A clear understanding of debits & credits and must be comfortable preparing journals.
                                    • Must have a proven understanding of standard accounting principles including Deferred Revenue, Accruals, Prepayments, etc.
                                    • Demonstrated & active Excel skills including the use of VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables and intricate formulae used in large spreadsheets.
                                    • Hands on pragmatic approach to problem solving.
                                    • Experience of Multi Currency is a necessary for this role.
                                    • Experience of Intercompany accounting is a distinct advantage.
                                    • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently.
                                    • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
                                    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
                                    • Most importantly, the candidate must be technically minded, and must be able to think logically as this is a daily necessity in this role.

Senior Marketing Executive

Location: London, UK


As Avvio’s Senior Marketing Executive, you'll be part of the dynamic marketing team, reporting to the Head of Marketing. This new role is varied and fast-paced – always adapting to the landscape within the hotel and travel sectors, as well as the business needs. You will be supporting the implementation of Avvio’s exciting marketing strategy and oversee the execution of campaigns to support Avvio’s commercial ambitions for global markets.

The responsibilities as Senior Marketing Executive would involve:

Strategic Communications

                                    • Continuous positioning of Avvio’s technology as market-leading - key to winning new target audiences in key markets.
                                    • Ensuring that every new client becomes an ambassador for Avvio, working with colleagues to leverage all PR opportunities.
                                    • Preparing and planning the publication of publicity material to maximise brand promotion.
                                    • Development of relationships with membership/industry bodies and partner companies.
                                    • Creating marketing campaigns and working with our external PR agency to see the campaigns successfully executed.
                                    • Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate internally and to our existing customers.
                                    • Implement an efficient and effective client and prospect communications plan using available CRM tools.
                                    • Content marketing: supporting the delivery of a content calendar and pushing the thought leadership agenda through regular content publishing.
                                    • Joint responsibility for Avvio’s product marketing, playing a key role in the content planning and communications process.


Campaign Management 

                                    • Plan, develop and deliver campaigns as agreed within timescales.
                                    • Work closely with Avvio’s Sales team to manage, monitor and improve inbound leads processes.
                                    • Inbound and traditional marketing; developing and executing integrated and standalone marketing campaigns.
                                    • Desk-based research to gather intelligence on marketing, events and industry trends.
                                    • Budget management: ensuring that all campaigns are executed effectively within timeframes and on budget.
                                    • Monitoring & reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns to Head of Marketing. 
                                    • Overseeing social media marketing activities; and owned channels (such as website management/blogs).
                                    • Oversee SEO, PPC and digital advertising campaigns.


Events Co-Ordination and Marketing

                                    • Joint management and support of sponsorships, conferences and events calendar.
                                    • Shared responsibility for planning/managing a broad global events calendar; co-ordination of attending, set-up, awards, pre-event marketing and lead gen follow-up co-ordination.
                                    • Management of events cost/package negotiations, contracts handling and securing high-value speaking opportunities to continue to position Avvio’s products and services as market leading.
                                    • Negotiate speakers, panel members, sponsors and suppliers for in-house events.
                                    • Nurture ongoing relationships with key industry membership bodies and event organisers.



                                  • Work independently to achieve team goals and reach target timelines, meeting or exceeding individual KPIs and objectives.
                                  • Deputising for Head of Marketing where required.
                                  • Contributing to the annual Marketing Plan.
                                  • Development of relationships with membership/industry bodies and partner companies.
                                  • Work with internal teams to assess Marketing support needs, and continuously identify improvements to all current processes and practices.
                                  • Record and monitor accomplishments and ongoing issues, participate in achieving resolutions to identified issues, keeping the Head of Marketing and key stakeholders informed.
                                  • Solve problems creatively and recommend alternative solutions.
                                  • Attend calls and meetings with clients, partners and internal staff to discuss marketing related queries as requested.
                                  • Internal reporting to colleagues on a project-by-project basis.
                                  • Provide support and assistance where needed to other departments within the company.

Role Location

E-Commerce Manager

Location: Ireland


As part of our continued growth Avvio are now recruiting for an E-Commerce Manager based in either our Limerick or Dublin offices.  In your new role you will be instrumental in growing the online business of our clients forward and displaying a deep understanding for driving the online strategy across your client portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Head of Client Strategy you will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the department. 


                                    • Drive an increase in targeted traffic and revenue across client portfolio.
                                    • Lead and own the client communication, through emails, calls and meetings/QBRs
                                    • Be the face of Avvio for your portfolio. Build, grow and develop client relationships ensuring client attrition remains low.
                                    • Be that main point of contact for the client from kick off, leading and guiding them through the process of on boarding with the support from Implementations.
                                    • Liaise effectively with other departments ensuring clients’ objectives are met and processes are followed.
                                    • Manage client expectations at all times during the relationship with Avvio.
                                    • Promote Avvio at all times, by upselling features and services that would be of benefit to both partners.
                                    • Utilise Analytics, Avvio and other platforms to understand the journey and encourage the client to adopt best practice across the website and booking engine.
                                    • Work closely with Team Leads, and wider team in the implementation of effective PPC, SEO, Video, Metasearch and other initiatives that meet client strategic business objectives.
                                    • Work closely with the Team Leads and other Client Success Managers on refining processes and best practices to maximise performance.
                                    • Communicate with portfolio about trends, updates, new concepts. Be the expert in the relationship by educating the client at all times to include booking engine, reporting, CMS and google analytics to name a few.
                                    • Liaise with the stakeholders to identify gaps in processes, products and put forward recommendations and suggestions to fill those gaps where relevant.
                                    • Ensure all initiatives are prioritised, executed and reported upon effectively.
                                    • Stay up to date on current industry practices, news and algorithm updates and educate colleagues on these.
                                    • Manage client information, ensuring all information is kept up to date and correct at all times.
                                    • Contribute to Avvio PR – blog articles, monthly newsletter etc. to update clients and the industry on SEO trends.
                                    • Attend seminars to upskill and grow knowledge (need to be approved by Team Leads).

New Business Sales Executive

Location: Limerick, Dublin or London


Avvio are currently seeking a New Business Sales Executive to join our sales department in our Limerick or Dublin offices. Your role will be to cold call and network within the hospitality industry (of which you will have previous experience), to present the world class leading Avvio Booking Engine and associated marketing services to medium and large hotel chains and non-branded groups. As a new business role, you will be supported in finding prospects by a variety of marketing activity; including presentation opportunities and exhibition events along with a CRM system. The role will require a self-starter, who is familiar and comfortable with picking up the phone and making a business introduction, with the view to booking a qualified business meeting with a decision maker. The role will see prospects established, developed and maintained to generate commercial strong, long term business of which you will be rewarded with commission easily accelerating your package to £100,000+ You’ll be responsible for developing a sales strategy for your area that will contribute to achieving Avvio’s target growth in the UK market. Analysing your territory, tracking sales and knowing you numbers are key skills required for this role.  


                                    • Generate qualified new business leads, and record on CRM system.
                                    • Attend all suitable events/exhibitions and networking opportunities in the UK (with some international travel as required), this will include both daytime and early evening events.
                                    • Achieve new business revenue growth in line with monthly target.
                                    • Keep all administration accurate and in real time via the CRM system.
