Software Developer

Location: Limerick, Ireland

Overview

Avvio is currently expanding due to continued success and we are now looking to add to our Limerick team.  

Reporting to the Head of Engineering the Software Developer is responsible for the design, development and testing of new and enhanced functionality for the Avvio suite of software products. 

Responsibilities

          • Execute full lifecycle software development.  
          • Write well designed, tested and efficient code.
          • Liaise with the product owner and business stakeholders to clarify requirements.
          • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
          • Document and maintain software functionality.
          • Serve as a subject matter expert to peers and other departments.
          • Investigate and resolve escalated issues and defects as assigned.

 

Essential Competencies

          • 2+ years experience in a similar role..
          • Third level computer science/systems related diploma or equivalent.
          • 2-5 years’ experience with PHP
          • Strong web-based programming skills.
          • SQL, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, AJAX.
          • Experience with XML and Web services would be beneficial.
          • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and revision management tools.
          • Object-Oriented development.
          • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently.
          • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
          • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Senior Web Designer

Location: Limerick, Ireland

Overview

To complement and enhance Avvio's unique approach to conversion, we are now looking for a talented senior web designer to join our design department and spearhead the creation of exciting and effective websites for our clients.

Reporting directly to the Head of Design you will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the design department. 

 Responsibilities

          • Design, development and maintenance of responsive web sites incorporating innovative solutions and industry best practices.
          • Styling and building of Content Management websites
          • Optimising photography for web.
          • Strong understanding of responsive design. Must be able to create design solutions for mobile, tablet, etc.
          • Knowledge of UX for mobile, tablet and desktop web applications
          • Work independently to achieve team goals and reach target timelines.
          • Where required deal with clients on a one to one basis to work through projects ahead of go live date.
          • Report regularly to the Project Manager and Project Coordinator on the status of active projects.
          • Testing all designs, codes and scripts on multiple browsers and devices.
          • Lend support and assistance where needed to other departments within the company.
          • Solve problems creatively and come up with alternative solutions.

 

Essential Competencies

                • 3rd level qualification in graphic/web related area.
                • 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
                • Strong design portfolio highlighting digital work.
                • Ability to write clean, SEO friendly HTML and CSS. Good working knowledge of web-standards.
                • Experience of digital content loading/publishing; use of a content management system.
                • Excellent IT skills, especially with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop / Dreamweaver / Illustrator / HTML / Web Design/ PHP).
                • Comfortable working in a busy design environment.
                • Ability to create professional documentation for internal company use and for clients.

Web Developer

Location: Limerick, Ireland

Overview

Avvio are currently seeking a Web Developer to join our design department in our Limerick office. team.  

The candidate must have a good working understanding of PHP, CSS3 and jQuery. This person will be working closely with the software, design and marketing teams. The right person must have passion for UI/UX. 

Responsibilities

        • Development of custom websites within our CMS platform.
        • Maintaining existing websites and handling new updates.
        • Testing and bug fixing on existing and new website builds.
        • Researching and testing new scripts and functionality.
        • Learn from and contribute to new software releases and advances in our system.
        • Work closely with our software team to maintain CMS platform and booking engine integration.

 

Requirements

          • Programming/Software Development degree or equivalent experience.
          • Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JQuery and PHP.
          • Knowledge of MySQL, SaSS and Git beneficial.
          • Experience in developing responsive websites with high Google Page Speed rankings.
          • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills – able to propose several viable solutions to complex problems and be able to evaluate the best alternative and estimate the work required.
          • Passionate about technology, design and quality.
          • Have excellent communication skills – able to make clear and meaningful contributions to design discussions and offer innovative solutions to complex problems.

New Business Sales Executive

Location: Limerick, Dublin or London

Overview

Avvio are currently seeking a New Business Sales Executive to join our sales department in our Limerick or Dublin offices. Your role will be to cold call and network within the hospitality industry (of which you will have previous experience), to present the world class leading Avvio Booking Engine and associated marketing services to medium and large hotel chains and non-branded groups. As a new business role, you will be supported in finding prospects by a variety of marketing activity; including presentation opportunities and exhibition events along with a CRM system. The role will require a self-starter, who is familiar and comfortable with picking up the phone and making a business introduction, with the view to booking a qualified business meeting with a decision maker. The role will see prospects established, developed and maintained to generate commercial strong, long term business of which you will be rewarded with commission easily accelerating your package to £100,000+ You’ll be responsible for developing a sales strategy for your area that will contribute to achieving Avvio’s target growth in the UK market. Analysing your territory, tracking sales and knowing you numbers are key skills required for this role.  

Responsibilities

          • Generate qualified new business leads, and record on CRM system.
          • Attend all suitable events/exhibitions and networking opportunities in the UK (with some international travel as required), this will include both daytime and early evening events.
          • Achieve new business revenue growth in line with monthly target.
          • Keep all administration accurate and in real time via the CRM system.
          • Keep abreast of best practices and industry/competitor knowledge.

PR Executive

Location: London

Overview

Avvio is currently expanding due to continued success. As PR Executive, you'll be part of the dynamic marketing team at Avvio reporting to the Head of Marketing. This new role is very varied and tasks will depend on the landscape within the hotel and hospitality sector as well as the business needs. team.  

Reporting to the Head of Marketing > Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  

Responsibilities

            • Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies.
            • Communicating with colleagues and key spokespeople.
            • Liaising with, and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, often via telephone or email.
            • Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media.
            • Collating and analysing media coverage.
            • Writing and editing in-house blogs, publications, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports.
            • Preparing and supervising the production of external-facing collateral. promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia.
            • Devising and coordinating photo opportunities.
            • Organising events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours.
            • Maintaining and updating information on the organisation's website.
            • IManaging and updating information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
            • Sourcing, managing speaking and sponsorhip opportunities.
            • Commissioning market research.
            • Fostering community relations through events such as open days and through involvement in community initiatives.
            • Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation.

 

Other Information

            • Occasional travel required to Avvio's UK and Ireland office.
            • Attendance at events, meetings with suppliers/media and clients.
