The team at Avvio are planning for the inevitable recovery post Covid-19 and part of that is to understand travel intent for the remainder of 2020. To do this, we will carry out a short weekly survey to help benchmark consumer intent for the hospitality industry. The survey will be shared across social media for 6 consecutive weeks to track the changes in travel intent as we navigate through this difficult time.
This page will provide a weekly breakdown of results.

Key Takeaways
Week 5’s survey was run in the 1st week of May, Week 6 was run on week starting June 22nd.
The intent to book a domestic holiday has increased again to 79%, this is up from 70% in week 5 and 54% in week 1 (end of March).
The biggest change has shifted in active booking intent with a jump from 2.10% in week 5 up to 33.33% of respondents actively looking to book now. Encouragingly even with the bookings uplift we have seen across the leisure market in Ireland in the past 4 weeks there is still a large segment still waiting to book later in the year – 38.60%. To me this signals a large grouping is playing the wait and see game, looking over the fence essentially, and will be motivated towards September/October bookings as we move through July and August and Hotels are showing they can stay open and deliver the service.
