In today’s connected world we understand that data security is of paramount importance to our customers. As we hear of more data breaches and security threats in recent news, you need to always consider these golden rules for implementing security measures.

A focus on security:

HTTPS should be a standard on your website. We refer to this as ‘private labelling’, and when HTTPS is used, you and your guests can be assured that communications are secure. Not sure if your website uses HTTPS? Look out for a small padlock symbol in the address bar or a  web address beginning with https://.

We recently overhauled the design and functionality of our booking engine. Recent research has shown that 51% of customers1 are more likely to make a purchase online if the payment page had a lock symbol on it. With this in mind, we included a visual indication on all pages, providing your guests with the reassurance that their details are secure when booking direct.

Cleanse your data

This goes without saying: Only keep data that is required for legitimate or processing purposes. Don’t open yourself up to a breach by holding onto years of data. Where possible, allow minimal access to confidential guest information.

Our customer data is stored only for as long as it is required to perform the primary business function of the application.

Make sure your integrations are safe!

Whether your website servers are hosted locally or with a data centre, ensure the appropriate firewalls and safety measures are in place.

All Avvio applications (including our AI booking platform, Allora) run on dedicated server hardware inside an ISO 27001 certified state-of-the-art data centre in Cologne, Germany. We are also proud of Allora’s performance score – over the past few months, we’ve had a 100% reliability score. Prior to this, it was 99.9%!

If you want to treat your property to an early Christmas present, get in touch with hello@avvio.com to book a free demo of Allora.
