Educating hoteliers of the future in all things digital

We’ve always been proud of our involvement in hospitality education. Our experts are always delighted to share their knowledge with students studying towards a qualification in hospitality – after all they’re the future lifeblood of the industry.

Earlier this month I was privileged to be invited to lecture at ESSEC Business School in Cergy, France with our CEO, Frank Reeves, for a day of digital marketing lectures with Masters-Level students.

As part of Snapshot’s Hotel Demand Management 5-day bootcamp, we delivered a day of digital marketing training, and we received great feedback from the students who joined and found the content informative and relevant. We covered everything from the customer journey to acquiring visitors via digital channels, conversion optimisation and building loyalty. Our approach is always holistic and looks at the full picture, a forward-thinking understanding of hospitality.

Janel Clark, Head of Education at Snapshot also found the day beneficial; “It was a pleasure to have Avvio participating in our prestigious Snapshot bootcamp team at ESSEC. Avvio has supported Snapshot throughout the four years that the programme has been running, and their input is always current and insightful. The class enjoyed the interaction with Frank and Cara, who made the session engaging and informative and gave great practical tips that could be used in the students current working lives and also the case study work.”

Our lectures and training are interactive to get the students working in groups and asking questions, the best way for them to learn.

Last month, Frank and I also delivered a digital marketing lecture to third level students at Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland. Our passion for all things digital encourages the students to see the value and importance of a hotel’s direct booking strategy. In the digital space it can be very difficult for students to wrap their heads around all of the different channels on offer and see how they can implement it in a practical way for the hotels they’ll soon be working in.

This is where Avvio can add value. With a large e-commerce team – most of whom have come from a hotel background and had HSMAI Revenue Management training – we are at the cutting edge of all things new, and ensure our lectures contain the latest initiatives and results from our tried and tested work.
