Avvio is once again delighted to be sponsoring the Front of House Manager of the Year Award at this year’s Institute of Hospitality Awards, the longest established hospitality awards in Northern Ireland.
Recognising the contributions of individuals to the industry across all sectors, the gala dinner and awards ceremony will take place at the Titanic Belfast this Friday, 17 May.
According to the Institute of Hospitality – the not-for-profit organisation promoting professionalism through lifelong learning – there are expected to be an additional 3,000 rooms across the country by 2021 and, currently, the number one city in the UK for hotel investment is Belfast. This highlights the importance of the hospitality industry in the country.
The Front of House Manager of the Year Award celebrates candidates who have made a personal impact in their role towards innovation driving guest satisfaction, improving employee engagement and successful financial initiatives.
In 2018, the Avvio-sponsored category was awarded to Lucy Waugh, front of house manager at Bullitt Hotel in Belfast. We caught up with Lucy last week who told us: “I’m extremely proud to have been the recipient of the Front of House Manager award in 2018. It was surprise and honour to be recognised within the industry and amongst hospitality colleagues for the work that myself and of course my Front of House staff do day in and day out.”
I’ll be attending the event with Ailís Callahan, E-Commerce Manager, and a number of our customer hotels from across the country. We’re really looking forward to the night and presenting the Front of House Manager Award!
The Institute of Hospitality Awards event is always such a positive celebration of those who have made a difference to their place of work and to the hospitality industry at large. We’ll be celebrating and recognising the hard work of the 2019 Front of House Manager of the Year and can’t wait to meet all the finalists and winners on the night.
